(More customer reviews)I got my Champion Juicer about 15 years ago, and LOVED it. It is a well made and versatile workhorse that does everything from grinding grain to making peanut butter. However do not be fooled by the new machines. They look the same, but the interior configuration is different. It does not work the way it is supposed to, and the company doesn't care.
Several years after I got my juicer, my mother-in-law wanted to get a better juicer than the centrifigual one she already had. Upon MY advice, she gave away her old, reliable juicer and bought a Champion. I was shocked that the motor sounded loose and rattly, and the pulp came out wet and drippy. Hardly any juice came out. It was obviously a piece of junk that was either broken, or poor quality, or both.
I called Whole Foods, where it was purchased, and they said that they did not offer any warranties on their juicers. They advised me to contact Champion directly. When I called the Champion company, the person who answered the phone was rude and defensive. She said that they had "upgraded" the unit, and that the noise simply reflected the "better" motor. She flatly denied that the machine could possibly be defective, and she said that the company policy does not allow refunds. She claimed that we must be doing something wrong - it didn't matter that I already owned one and knew how it was supposed to work. My only choice was to ship this extremely heavy machine back to California (AT MY OWN EXPENSE), or accept it as is!
So my unfortunate mother-in-law had given away her good juicer, and was stuck with one that barely worked. It languished in her cupboard for a long time, unused. Now, several years later, she is caring for a sick family member, and desperately needs fresh juice. We lugged it out, thinking that it was better than nothing, but when we plugged it in today, it wouldn't even turn on. The machine is totally dead, and she did not even get a single full glass of juice from it! Of course, the company claims that "nothing is wrong with the machine".
My suggestion is that if you want a good juicer, buy an Omega, or purchase a used Champion that is more than 15 years old.

(More customer reviews)I am a huge juicer. Every morning my wife and I juice. We noticed that our juiceman jr was not efficiently juicing our green vegies. It was wasting 90% of them. The green veggies (expensive I might add) went right into the plastic bin hardly touched. I went to Jamba Juice and they explained how an auger presses the green juices - and, that's what Jamba uses for their wheat grass....well, the rest is history. I did my homework and found out that augers are more efficient just like Jamba explained. And, kitchens best walked me through the entire thing. Plus, they offered a 90 day money back warranty. They are incredibly nice and I can't believe they offer that kind of awesome money back gaurantee. Anyway, they are RIGHT about the juicer - it absolutely presses out 95% more green juice than the Jack Lalane and Juice man Jr. styles..and it does a better job on apples, ginger, and everything else too. The ONLY down side is - it's a slower process. But, in life - you can't have everything. I would much rather take a minute or two more each day and get my monies worth out of the fruits and veggies I buy than to speed through it and waste my food. Also, I seriously think it tastes better too!! Reason being, the other style spins it so fast - I swear it tasted "burned" sometimes. The Samson seems sweeter and more mellow. Anyway, trust me - you won't go wrong with this juicer or this company. Lovely company. Fair price too. Nobody offers a 90 day warranty...not even KMART OR WALLMART!! Nuff said. Buy it - you will thank me later.

(More customer reviews)I use a reamer quite often and it's either a fishing expedition for seeds or trying to pick them out before. Once you use this, you wonder why nobody thought of this before now! It is light but sturdy. It does take one try to get it right if you are on automatic pilot with your regular wooden reamer to make sure you don't have the seeds fall into the salad bowl. But then it becomes second nature.

Juiceman Jr. Juicer - JM1 Review

(More customer reviews)This little juicer is a great intro into the juicing lifestyle. It is a centrifugal juicer meaning the vegetables you place into it are shredded by tiny teeth and the pulp is thrown against the outer wall of the screen and the juice is forced out by the spinning motion. What you get is a fair amount of juice for the vegetables you place into it. I have owned this juicer for over 5 years with little or no problems at all with it. I usually juice every day so that is saying a good deal for a machine that costs less than $100.
I would give it 5 stars if it were not for the following things:
1. It is noisy, I mean lock up the cat because when you fire it up it resembles a jet engine taking off.
2. A pain to clean. It only has 1 moving part but due to the nature of the process food particles fling all over the inside of it.
3. Bogs down with pulpy fruits.
Some hard-core juicing people say that centrifugal juicers heat the juice up and this destroys nutrients. In my opinion even heated a small amount is still better than sucking down soda and pizza any day.

Solostar II Multi-purpose Juicer Review

My SoloStar II has been plagued by problems. In less than a year, many of the outer parts have broken. The juicing screen ($35.00) has broken three times. When the juicing screens break, it happens before the pulp container is even full. As a result, the auger and juicing screen need to be cleaned constantly within a session. The screen locking cap ($5.80) has also broken. Speaking of the auger, even that cracked ($35.00). Several times, I e-mailed customer service about such issues with no reply. When I called, Tribest Life promptly sent out free replacement parts.
Benefits
When the parts aren't breaking, the SoloStar II works very well. It's simple to assembly and operate. The actual extraction process seems efficient. Cleaning is a breeze since most of the parts rinse under the sink. The only cleaning challenge is the juicing screen. Along these lines, the modified toothbrush that comes with the unit is worthless. I now use a steel auto detailing brush that does a great job. The SoloStar II is visually pleasing and the unit operates at a good volume. I was inspired to purchase the juicer after watching the online video as hosted on the Tribest Life web page. It accompanies the juicer in VHS format. Being a first time juicer, this was extremely helpful.
In conclusion, there are benefits and drawbacks to the SoloStar II. While it may have been a good introduction to the juicing world, I definitely look forward to an upgrade. Talking to juicers (people who juice, not the machines;), it seems that you really need to spend around $350.00-$400.00 before getting a quality juicer. Should you decide to purchase the SoloStar II, make certain that you send in the warranty/registration card. That was essential in getting parts replaced at no charge.

the setup is far to small to juice a normal orange without leaving behind about half of the juice. It is just too small and takes only the juice out of the very center of the orange.
It would be great on lemons or cull oranges that are no bigger than an average lemon. As for grapefruit they wouldn't even fit into the extractor bowl.
Don't buy it unless you get a kick out of wasting food.

I did some research online and read people's review then decided to buy this soy milk machine. I know all the time that soy is very good to people's health especially for women so I had great expectation that this thing would work out. I ordered online from their own website and got it after 1 week. It was much bigger that I had imagined. Back in China, my mom used to use a handy soymaker. Anyway, I used it 3 times and it was good. Just that the soymilk didn't taste as fully cooked. Also washing the machine is a bit complicated since the head (where the electric parts are)is undetachable from the grinding part. So you need to hold the heavy head when washing the grinding part. You need to be very careful not to splash water onto the head. It's a bit tricky.
At the 4th usage, it only heated up without grinding at all so we pretty much harvest whole boiled beans. I called the company to fix it but they said I have to pay the mailing. Even though I found online that they have a retailer in my city but they insisted that I mail it back. Also if I still decide to return it later after fixing it, the 30 day warranty won't be extended. It still starts from the date of purchase, not from the date after you fix it. So I decided to return it for refund anyway. I paid $20+ for the mailing.
Another thing I found out about the manual is that, there is inconsitency among different language versions. One version says "push the grind button 3 times", the other versions says "push the grind button 4 times". I don't know which one to follow.
It's quite a lesson to learn. Well, I'll have to look for my soy machine again. I didn't the machine from Amazon so I wouldn't know if the experience would be different if I did.

This is a follow up of my previous review for this soymilk maker. I returned the machine and wrote the review here in February. The supervisor of the customer service called me after he saw the online review. He said according to their policy, in case the machine is broken, they should pay for the shipping. The lady who handled my case has worked there for 1+ year but was oblivious of this policy. He also offered to give me a completely new machine with 2 year warranty as a compliment. Well, I tried the new machine out and it is working good. Now I've got the refund for the previous machine as well as the $20 shipping. I guess I should give them a second chance of proving themselves.

After I used the recipes from the cookbook the maker came with (I used the vanilla cream base and the frozen yogurt recipes), all I got was a liquidy, slushy-like mess with huge ice crystals. After trying it numerous times, I pronounced the ice cream maker officially useless. I wrote multiple business letters to customer service, and eventually they agreed to let me send my original one back to get a new one with one condition: enclose $9.00 in with it. I didn't do this, but instead I got a new Cuisinart ice cream maker that works perfectly and makes delicious soft-serve ice cream. Do not buy this appliance!

Omega BMJ330 Commercial 350-Watt Stainless-Steel Pulp-Ejection Juicer Review

(More customer reviews)First, let me say that I am not new to juicing. I have an old Omega, I think it's the 1000 model. It is a centrifugal juicer without pulp ejection. I also have a Breville "wide mouth" (which I don't like), and an Omega 8006. So, I know how to put the parts together and I am very experienced with juicing.
I think my Omega Big Mouth juicer (this product) may be defective. The blade shaves off plastic from the bottom of the top piece. In addition, there is side leakage. I juiced beets, and red juice spilled out of the side, down onto the power switch area, and onto my counter.
I wanted this juicer to complement my Omega 8006. There are times that I don't want to do the cutting that the 8006 requires, so I wanted to use the Omega Big Mouth for those times. But obviously I don't want to consume plastic shavings and have juice spill over my counter.
I did place everything very precisely and made sure that it wasn't "user error". As I said above, I am very experienced with juicing, and this is the first juicer that I've used that has ever ended up juicing plastic and spilling while juicing.
Update:
The plastic shavings that came off have embedded themselves in the centrifugal sides. I am watching TV tonight while trying to remove them. Even a nylon brush is having trouble removing them. This is not the new-juicer-experience that I was looking for when I bought this juicer.
Update:
Many of the plastic shavings are not coming off the screen. I don't know the physics involved, but maybe it's because plastic shavings at 12,000 rpm hitting the screen may have permanently embedded in to the screen. This juicer is ruined, and I only got to use it once.
Update:
Now the juicer has a hard time turning on. I know that it has to be assembled correctly for it to turn on, as a safety measure. I've used other juicers before, including the Omega 1000, so assembling a juicer is nothing new to me. This one is clearly defective. Unfortunately, I have the box for the juicer, but not the styrofoam that goes in the box for packaging.
I bought it from [...] and don't know if I will be able to return it. All I would want is a replacement juicer that works.

Omega 8003 Nutrition Center - Wheatgrass, Fruits and More Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this juicer mainly to juice green vegetables. As I don't like salads and find it pretty difficult to get raw vegetables in my diet, otherwise. It works great, very nice machine, well worth the money. The only thing I've found that didn't juice well all the time so far has been plums. I think, the softer the fruit, the more difficult its going to be to juice. I usually don't have problems with plums, though, I only had trouble one time. ...As far as the taste. Well, add an apple or two and you can consume even the bitterest of greens (kale, collard greens, ect). Which, of course, are the best ones for you. This was, personally, my main reason for buying it.
Anyways, if you're looking for an inexpensive, good quality, masticating style juicer for juicing vegetables...Then I would say; Look no further, this is your machine. The only other thing Ive tried with it was making an almond butter. And it does this quite well, as well. Although, you do have to add a decent amount of oil. I used walnut oil and it turned out pretty nice. Add a bit of honey to sweeten and you're set. A lot fresher than buying the jarred stuff. Plus, it gives you the option of soaking the nuts, which is said to make digestion easier. I've seen nut butters that use soaked nuts sell at VERY high prices in health food stores. So, if you're into soaking/sprouting foods, this would be a huge money saver.
My only complaint would be that its a bit time consuming. I'd say it takes at least a half an hour to wash/cut produce, juice, and clean parts. ...Perhaps even a bit longer, depending on how quick you are. The parts are very easy to clean, though, and assembly is a snap after you get used to how it all connects. All in all, I'd say its certainly worth the time spent.

(More customer reviews)I mainly needed a new juicer for juicing wheatgrass. This machine is great because not only can it juice grass but it can also be used for vegetable and fruit juicing. It has completely replaced my other vegetable and fruit juicer!! Now I just have one machine that does it all! Also a big bonus is that is also makes soy milk! Frozen healthy sorbets, and all natural nut butters, I made cashew butter and it was great and cheaper then buying at the store. Oh yes, I also made fresh pasta, and salsa. The clean up is so easy, the parts won't rust, (which is the reason my old juicer needed to be replaced). It's a breeze a take apart and put back together, just a few seconds. It's a dream, couldn't be happier with this product. Oh yes and it really squeezes the last drop out of the wheatgrass, the pulp comes out bone dry! My last juicer did not do that. I'm getting more juice for my buck!
